Switchable Film provides Switchable Privacy & Projection Screen in Dental Consultation Room
We have supplied & fitted self-adhesive switchable film at Renovo Dental to create a versatile, dynamic space. Switchable film can be switched from opaque to clear by applying an electric current. This makes it a versatile product that can be used for a variety of applications, including privacy windows/doors/partitions and projection screens.
Renovo Dental is projecting images of a patient's teeth onto the the consultation room glass walls (when the film is opaque). The projector is located outside the consultation room and the projected image is clearly visible inside the room.
When the power is switched on the film becomes transparent, creating a large, attractive open space. When the power is switched off, the film becomes opaque, providing complete privacy and the ability to project images onto the glass walls.
Renovo Dental is a state-of-the-art private dental clinic located in Clitheroe in the heart of the Ribble Valley, UK, specialising in aesthetic, implant and restorative dentistry, and was the winner of multiple 2023 dentistry awards. It has created a calm and relaxing environment that takes away the anxiety of visiting the dentist.
We retrofitted six panels of self-adhesive switchable film (1.8m high) to the existing glass walls, leaving a narrow gap at the bottom. All film panels are electrically connected at the top to a 50V (200VA) transformer and are controlled by our radio-frequency remote control kit. One of the panels was fitted to a sliding door which required a retractable cable for the electrical connection.
Our team carried out a site survey in advance and demonstrated the effectiveness of image projection onto the glass walls at Renovo Dental.
The switchable film panels are powered by a 50V (200VA) transformer, and are controlled by a single RF remote control. The transformer comes with a 3-pin plug attached, but this can be removed if the customer prefers it wired directly into a fuse spur.
