Switchable Film provides Conservatory Roof Privacy and Anti-Glare
Switchable Privacy, UV protection and Anti-Glare
We have supplied & retrofitted self-adhesive switchable film in a conservatory in Hertfordshire, UK to create a versatile space.
When the power is switched on the film becomes transparent, creating a large, attractive open space. When the power is switched off, the film becomes opaque, providing complete privacy, and a significant reduction in glare from the Sun.
The homeowner's conservatory floor tiles were also becoming discoloured from prolonged exposure to sunlight, particularly from UV rays. Our self-adhesive switchable film provides protection by blocking up to 98% of UV rays in both its on and off state.
Our team carried out a site survey in advance. We retrofitted six (710 x 1450mm) panels of self-adhesive switchable film to the existing glass roof. All film panels are electrically connected at their bottom edge to a 50V (200VA) transformer and are controlled by our radio-frequency remote control kit. The electrical wires are protected, hidden neatly with trim, and fed around the rafters - no holes were necessary.
The transformer comes with a 3-pin plug attached, but this can be removed if the customer prefers it wired directly into a fuse spur.
