Switchable Private Offices at Baxter Healthcare

We have converted 11 offices at Baxter Healthcare to make privacy switchable with a remote control

Baxter Healthcare is one of the largest suppliers to the NHS with over 7,500 products and services.

Six (2.3m high) columns of self-adhesive switchable film were fitted to all the glass panels in each of the 9 offices, the boardroom and the training room at the Thetford (UK) site.

When the power is switched on the film becomes transparent. All film panels in a batch are electrically connected at the top to a 50V (200VA) transformer and are controlled by our radio-frequency remote control kit.

(Because the photo here is a panorama, the glass panels look curved but they are in fact flat. However, fitting to curved panels is also possible).


We installed our Switchable film to the boardroom's glass partition.

Five (1m x 2.3m) columns of self-adhesive switchable smart film were fitted to the glass walls.


The switchable film panels are powered by a 50V (200VA) transformer, and are controlled by a single RF remote control. The transformer comes with a 3-pin plug attached, but this can be removed if the customer prefers it wired directly into a fuse spur.

Switchable film was also installed to the glass walls of the reception to block sunlight glare.

Customers waiting in the reception were suffering from glare from the Sun.

To reduce glare, nine (2.1m and 1.7m high) sections of self-adhesive switchable smart film were fitted to the existing glass panels.  All the reception film panels can be switched simultaneously with our remote control.


Our installers survey the property in advance, taking measurements for the film.

Because our switchable film can be retro-fitted, no changes to the existing glass wall are necessary.

During installation, the film shape is refined with scissors/blades for a perfect fit (e.g. around the door handles in the photos shown).

The switchable smart film has a self-adhesive layer for convenient application. If the film is removed it does not leave any residue.
